– Welcome –

Psychotherapist in Montreal treating anxiety, depression and ADHD.

Seeking help for mental health problems may mean many things: you may be in acute emotional distress right now, or perhaps feel tired and stuck in your patterns, or feeling the weight of accumulated years of pain.

In my 14 years as a practicing therapist in Montreal I have helped many clients to gain greater clarity into past and present feelings, thoughts, and behaviors; helped them discover tools toward immediate and long-lasting change and a greater understanding of the self.

Julia Savina, PhD, Psychotherapist

Hello! Thank you for visiting my webpage.

I am a licenced Psychotherapist, and I’m passionate about helping people end suffering and regain meaning and happiness in their lives. For almost 14 years I have specialized in psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, adult ADHD and teenage problems. People who consult with me find that I am genuine and knowledgeable, with a unique interactive and goal-oriented approach to therapy. My neuroscience and psychopharmacology training gives me an extensive understanding of brain functioning, so that I can explain to my clients where their symptoms come from, and why the techniques I give them work. It is my belief that understanding paves way for hope and regaining control.

– Psychotherapy Services in Montreal -

Psychotherapy Services

I have four psychotherapy specialties: anxiety, depression, ADHD, and adolescents. I also provide psychotherapy for problems with regulating emotions, self-esteem, relationships and family difficulties, life-stage transitions, and parenting.

Teletherapy

I provide therapy via video using a secure, encrypted software to keep you safe and protect your privacy.

Anxiety Therapy

I provide psychotherapy for adults and teens suffering from anxiety. If you have unpleasant physiological symptoms, overwhelming worries, a loss of control, and panic attacks, we can work together towards regaining control. I work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you let go of negative thinking patterns, learn effective de-escalation techniques, and develop better coping and problem-solving skills.

Depression Therapy

If you can’t stop crying, thinking negative thoughts about yourself, the world around you, and the future, you may be suffering from depression. Psychotherapy can help you feel joy again, feel normal, get your life back. Together, we will explore and process the possible causes: loss, conflict, abuse, doing too much for too long. I will help you challenge unhelpful negative thinking patterns, learn to manage stress, set boundaries, and implement rewarding activities in daily life.

ADHD Therapy

If you are an adult or a teen diagnosed with, or suspect you have ADHD, I can help you deal with this disorder. With my background in neuroscience I can explain to you how this neurological condition causes the difficulties you are experiencing in your daily life. I will help you learn the skills to manage impulsivity and inattention. Together we will also work on reducing associated anxiety, depressed mood and relationship problems.

Adolescent Therapy

If you are a teenager that struggles in school and relationships, has conflicts with parents or teachers and peers; if you suffer emotional distress, anxiety, and fears about the future, I can help you navigate the difficult world of adolescence. As a therapist, I am a neutral adult that can help you answer questions about life and relationships. In therapy you can learn social and communication skills, boundaries, and skills asserting your independence and autonomy.

Teen Parenting Problems

Parents often experience a great deal of stress when their child enters adolescence. I work with parents to help them navigate problems with their teens. I also work with teenagers to help them understand parental behaviours, and to appreciate the love and care they receive from parents. If you feel that your teen has a problem, or you need help in improving your relationship with your teen, psychotherapy can help.
